DYNAMIC WARM UP

As a certified fitness coach I'm often asked, coach do I need to stretch before exercising? And the answer is NO! Static stretching a cold muscle can lead to high risk injuries as you are performing your workouts. So that brings me to this point. All you need is a Dynamic Warm Up. This will increase blood flow and warm up the target muscle groups. A dynamic warm is a series of movements that mimics the exercise you are about to perform. For example if you are training your legs, your dynamic warm could consist of pulse squat or half motion lunges. This allows the muscles to warm up and increase blood flow. Another example of dynamic warm is jumping jacks or jump rope, high knees etc. The only time you should perform a static stretch is after your workouts. Well I hope this information was helpful. Until next time peace and health to the community.
