Muscle Fitness

Muscle fitness is the most important aspect of health related components of physical fitness. Strength helps provide independent living, especially for older adults, in which allows them to move around freely without help.

Regular strength training also helps control blood sugar. Much of the blood glucose from food consumption goes to the muscles, where it is stored as glycogen. When muscles are not used muscles cells may become insulin resistant, and glucose cannot enter the cells thereby increasing the risk of type 2 diabetes. So this is why strength training is so important, especially for older adults. Strength training should be done at minimum twice a week. Well I hope the was help.
